What is IPTV, in one sentence?
IPTV delivers live television over your internet connection instead of an aerial, a satellite dish or a cable, so the picture arrives the same way a YouTube video does — which is why it needs no new wiring and runs on hardware you already own. The longer explanation is here.
Do I need a special box, an aerial or a dish?
No. If a device runs apps it can run HakunaXTR: a Fire Stick, a Roku, a Samsung or LG smart TV, an Android TV box, a phone, a tablet, a Windows PC or a Mac. Here is the full list of what you need, and a set-up guide for each device.
How long does activation take?
Minutes. Login details are emailed as soon as payment clears, day or night, and a first install takes about five to ten minutes on a Fire Stick and less on a smart TV.
Can I watch on two TVs at the same time?
Not on one connection. Every plan includes 1 connection, which means one stream at a time — the player can be installed on as many devices as you like and you switch between them freely. A second screen running at the same moment needs a second connection, which is quoted separately. See the plans.
Is my broadband fast enough?
Almost certainly. One HD channel needs roughly 8–12 Mbps and one 4K channel 25–35 Mbps, which any current fibre or FTTC line carries comfortably. When streams do stutter the cause is usually wifi or in-home wiring rather than line speed, and plugging in an ethernet cable for one evening tells you which it is. Is IPTV legal?
The technology is entirely legal — it is how BBC iPlayer, Sky Glass and most modern pay-TV work. What matters is whether the channels being delivered are licensed, and that is a question about a specific provider rather than about IPTV. We set out where the line sits, and in Britain a TV Licence is still required for any live channel however it reaches you.
What happens if a channel stops working?
Message support and it gets looked at — 24/7, by a person, usually under 30 minutes, 24/7. Most reports turn out to be one of four things, and all four have a fix you can try first: an authorisation error, buffering, a blank programme guide, or nothing loading at all.
